My wife and I live in an Atlanta suburb. She is from Louisiana, so she's legit. Me? I'm from New England—not so much.
Immediately following my move to Atlanta in 1999, I found the cultural contrast between Massachusetts and Georgia pretty extreme but refreshing. The Bitter Southerner adds so much context to that delta. The stories may not be written for me, but reading them makes me feel closer to a region and community I've come to love.
